From what i've seen and heard so far, i'm pleased that everything is being kept in house, and no dirty linen washed in public.Roy talks sensibly, and I don't think he will fall for any of Fergie (Purple nose) mind games.Back to :iverpool next week. Will be in The Ship and Mitre before the game.

I don't know about everyone else, but i'm tired of hearing about players who can't make their minds up , where they want to be playing. If they don't want to stay, ...get rid! and that includes Fernando. We have a great Club, with lots of history, and we now have a chance , to rebuild and also have some more home grown talent in the mix.Come on, support the Reds, and let's look forward to a great new season. Welcome back to Shankly's webpage, I have finally found my way back to the computer. Was unhappy to see Rafa go, but more concerned to find out who will take over. Have heard from a very good source , that we WILL be taken over on 15th July, Yanks out of the way, and up and running with a Sheik from Abu Dhabi. Not bothered with who wants to go or stay, if they want to leave , let them.( The grass greener on the other side? ask Michael Owen.) Let's hope we have a happier season this time than last year. Shankly's Bar , will be open 2pm till midnight for the rest of October, mon till fri. and 4pm till midnight , from the 1st of November. Weekends open midday till midnight at all times. Look forward to seeing you all.

The season so far

Well we haven't had the best of starts to the season , so far , but we've no need to worry , i'm sure we can make the deficit up. I haven't seen any team looking spectacular , and let's not forget , we drew 11 games last year , we wont this time! Aquilani is in training now, and i'm convinced he can make a difference, when he is fit. What a time for having international matches when the season is only 2 weeks old. Let's get back to the real stuff , and climb to the top of the league, and shut all the critics up!!!

Glad to see that the opener for the season has started with the Mancs losing the Community Shield...even if it was to Chelski! Here's hoping that we can do better than our pre-season performance and bring the League back to Anfield this season.

We have just been informed, that tickets for the friendly game with Espanol, are on sale at Anfield , Mon. 27th July. We cannot guarantee tickets for anyone, but hope to have some , for those travelling on our coach.

Have just returned from Espanyol's new ground...what a mess..still a building site! Only their members are entitled to the lowere priced tickets which are 60 euros all other tickets are 100 and 150 euros. They say this is because it is the inaugral game and they have entertainment and ceremony before the game.

Our season didn't finish too bad, as there was a big improvement on last year. This was made all the better, with the Mancs and the "Bitters" losing their respective finals. With the right buys in the summer and the sale of a couple of players (not Xavi)we can do it next season, and shut the Mancs up.

Well the scum got their 18th title, but they didn't win it we threw it away. As I mentioned on "Kop talking" on LFC.TV the other night, had Stevie and Nando played together more often, we'd have walked the title. Never mind , with a couple of good buys in the summer, it will be ours next season!

Espanol's new stadium

Liverpool have now made it public , that they will be playing a pre-season friendly at the new Espanol Stadium, on 2nd August 2009.Shankly's bar will be running coaches to and from the game on the day,at a cost of 25 euros per adult, and 15 euros per child. To think that this will be only the third time that Liverpool and Real Madrid have clashed in the European Cup! The first time in Paris in 1981, the Reds won 1-0.
Two weeks ago at the Bernabau, 1-0. So, lets hope history repeats itself tonight. Torres has been training and looks likely to start, whilst Gerrard will hopefully take his 100th cap in European games for Liverpool.
